The company, AQUATIS a.s. has been awarded a contract for the reconstruction of the Orlík Dam. The purpose of the project, called "Orlík Dam - Protection of The Dam Against Large Floods “of which the investor is The Vltava River Basin (government company), is to equip the dam with equipment that would allow a safe transfer of extreme floods. The new standards for the safety of dams in the Czech Republic require that the most important water structures of this type must safely transfer a Ten Thousand Years - Control Flood. Based on these requirements, a number of dams in the Czech Republic had been already reconstructed or such a reconstruction is currently being carried out (based on the documentation provided by AQUATIS a.s. - this also applies to the Šance Dam, Opatovice Dam and Boskovice Dam). Now the Orlik Dam, the largest dam in the Czech Republic with regards to the volume, is also going to be reconstructed.More information
